subject | [contrib #291] apos entity is not valid HTML
code |
<div>'</div> |
|||
what happened | Apostrophe is escaped. |
|||
what expected | ' is a valid XML entity, but it's not defined in HTML. In particular, Internet Explorer doesn't recognise it. Of course, Scala is specified to output XML, not HTML, but given that there doesn't actually appear to be any reason to escape apostrophes (it seems attributes are always double-quoted now?), it would make life a lot easier if this were dropped.
